The Way To Happiness Foundation stages volunteer clean-up effort on K Street
SACRAMENTO, CA – 15 Mar, 2017 – Volunteers from the Church of Scientology and The Way To Happiness Foundation formed up teams to help spruce up the K Street area of downtown near the new arena in preparation for the March Madness tournament coming this week starting March 15th.
Working in coordination with the Sacramento Downtown Partnership they put together teams of people to help pick up garbage and cigarette butts as well as cleaning and spot painting light posts and landscape railing.
The effort was very well received and the group even had a spontaneous volunteer ask if he could help in the effort. He was handed a rag and some cleaner and given a t-shirt for his work and he pitched right in and was a big help.
The effort puts into application precepts of the booklet “The Way To Happiness” entitled “Take Care of the Planet” and “Set a Good Example”. Written by L Ron Hubbard as a common sense guide to better living, some 100 million copies of The Way to Happiness have been distributed in more than 114 languages and in over 170 countries in an effort to bring about positive changes in communities.
Taking the precepts of this book and putting them into practice is what we are doing here today with this clean-up effort said local Foundation Coordinator Valerie Patton. We are very proud of our community added Patton, and we all feel a sense of pride in our work and hope the visitors here this next week will find Sacramento a great place to stay. The group was able to get three blocks of K Street done and are looking to do quarterly clean ups in the area in the future.
