SB10 Bail Reform: California So Wealthy They Will Pay Top Dollar For Crime SB10 Empowers Criminals And Cripples Law Enforcement In CA.

July 11, 2017 – SB10 Bail Reform, in its purest form is catch and release of criminals, without jail or bail being required. If SB10 passes CA. Assembly this week, The citizens of CA. and victims of crimes will be required to pay for the legal counsel, court fees, warrants,  trials and any fugitive recovery cost incurred by assailants. Currently, Bail Agents bear this responsibility.  CA. Senators determined taxpayers can afford to be victims and will let us pay top dollar for the crime. Let that sink in…(Senate Vote)

The Senate Passed SB10 on 5/31/17 even though the  Assembly appropriations committee concluded on  5/22/17  Bail Reform would cost CA. hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars for pretrial services and tens to hundreds of millions for court-appointed attorneys to defend cases http://bit.ly/2pH9QwB. The current bail system prevents this.

Bail reform protects the bottom line of organized crime, human traffickers, and gangs that take advantage of the most vulnerable. Bail reform applies to the local heroin dealer that sells to high school kids; the car-jacker who just took your ride; the burglar that stole everything from your home; the pedophile arrested in your neighborhood; child pornographers caught with the film; and Rapist’s that drug their victims. Bail Reform covers these criminals under the mask of “Poverty is not a crime”. These people are not poor. They are well funded by their crimes. The advocates of this bill would have us believe that poor people commit these crimes. Poor people don’t commit crimes. Criminals commit crimes. Poverty is not a crime–stealing, abusing and molesting are crimes, and low-income families and are equally victimized by these criminals.

The politically charged environment combined with social media and spin marketing is putting a lot of pressure on politicians. Political correctness has crossed the line. Campaigns for SB10 have skewed the facts in order to gain ground. They claim only poor people commit crimes. That people stuck in jail are the real victims, it’s unfair to be in jail, they put unreal numbers like 64% of criminals are in jail because they can’t afford bail. Not true. They are in jail because of a prior arrest, the severity of a crime, lying in an interview, failure to appear and the list goes on. A few might not afford bail.

Last month  AB42 a near twin to SB10 was brought before the CA. Assembly click here to see the vote  100% of supporting votes are Democrats. Why? Are they out of touch with their constituency. Has common sense been lost on our leaders? If they are in your area call Today and encourage them to vote against SB10

3 common sense questions

  1. As a police officer: Will you to continue to rush out and risk your life on a crime you know will have no ramifications for the assailant, who also knows this?
  2. As a citizen:  Will you continue call 911 knowing the criminal will simply be let go?
  3. As a criminal: Will you to continue profiting from your crime knowing there are no ramifications?

SB10 Bail Reform is not reform. It is unconstitutional,  it completely eliminates the Bail industry and puts 100% liability on citizens and Law Enforcement.

  • Eliminates Jobs
  • Increases Taxes
  • Empowers Criminals
  •  Enables repeat offenders
  • Puts Citizens and Law enforcement in harm’s way

Lipstick Bail Bonds has offices in Santa Ana, Orange County, LA and throughout California. They have been battling the Senate and Assembly defending the 8th Amendment and building awareness for CA.   Sisters, Lisa and Teresa Golt of Lipstick Bail Bonds explained the real numbers that you pay for bail. “Typically bonds go for as low as 7%-8% of the total with very little or nothing as a deposit. Bail agents do not charge interest. Payments are determined by what a family or individual can pay and negotiated with the bondsman. Most times payments run longer than a year. The 10% number noted by Bail reform is the maximum allowed and rarely ever negotiated.”  It is the Gov. and Judges that set bail cost so high not bail bond companies.

How much is bail?

  • Drug possession/ Gov’t set bail $10,000 = Actual cost with 7% Bail Bond $700
  • Sexual Offenses – Armed with Firearm or Deadly Weapon / Govt. set bail  $50,000= Actual bail cost with Avg  7% Bail Bond $3,500
  • Drug dealer with priors selling to minors $100,000=$7,000 Bail

You can pick your crime and determine the bail amount

The bottom line is that there is no accountability under this law for criminals to show up in court or for law enforcement to bring them in. It solves nothing, it emboldens criminals, and it puts all citizens and law enforcement at much greater risk.
